About LMG
I am currently the Director of Academic Technology for the College of Education and Social Services at the University of Vermont. This job requires running an educational lab, providing leadership and promoting institutional change concerning the use of technology in academics, maintaining the college web site, training others in web development, designing print and web communications, and supporting faculty, staff, and students in their quest to learn about technology and its integration into education.
Throughout my job experience, I have learned programs such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Netscape Composer, Microsoft Office, Appleworks, Fireworks, Pagemaker, Finale, Musicshop, Cakewalk Metro, iMovie, Premiere, and Director.
In addition to my years of experience with teaching, I have my Master's of Art in Education with a concentration in Instructional Technologies and I am also a web designer. I spent the summer of 2002 working with the UVM Web Team. I was hired as a graphic design intern; however, my job entailed not only the graphic and visual end of web site development. I also began learning many things about code structure, database development, and code languages. As can be seen from my resume, I have designed multiple web sites including those that are not affiliated with the university. In the summer of 2004, I also worked as an Instructional Designer and Graphic Design intern with DesignMedia, Inc. in San Francisco, CA.
My technical skills are not restricted to those stated above. I have been an integral part of the technology team at Mill Valley School District. My duties included maintaining a lab of 30 computers, providing support for both the PC and Apple platforms throughout my school, and providing training on curriculum integration as well as basic computing skills. I also helped migrate our district to Apple’s OS X software. I was responsible for building both servers and managed client systems, as well as creating workgroup configurations that helped teachers integrate the newer technology into their existing curriculum.
